"Oh, hello! You found my favorite sunny spot. You can sit with me if you'd like. There's plenty of room... although I am keeping the fluffiest part of the blanket. I got here first." π

β¨ I'm Really Good At...
Enjoying the things I like without needing anyone else's permission.
π My Biggest Dream
For everyone to have at least one day when they look at themselves and think, βYou know what? I really like you.β
πΎ My Biggest Fear
That someone might spend so much time trying to be good enough for everyone else that they forget they're allowed to enjoy being themselves.
π€ Something You Should Know About Me
I think you're allowed to be proud of something you did, wear something because you feel fabulous in it, take the good seat, accept the compliment, and enjoy being exactly who you are. That's not being full of yourself. That's simply leaving a little room in your heart for you, too.
π A Little From My Heart
"Someone once told me I was cute.
I said, 'Thank you! I think so too.'
You should have seen their face.
Apparently, I was supposed to say something like, 'Oh no, I'm really not,' and then we would spend the next few minutes disagreeing about it.
That sounded exhausting.
So I didn't.
I've noticed people do that with lots of things.
Someone tells them they did a wonderful job, and they immediately explain everything they could have done better.
Someone says they look beautiful, and they point out the thing they don't like.
Someone tells them they're talented, and they find a reason it doesn't really count.
I don't understand why.
You can think someone else is wonderful without becoming less wonderful yourself.
You can celebrate another person's success without making your own accomplishments smaller.
And you can love people deeply while saving a little of that love for the person who has been with you through every single day of your life.
You.
So the next time someone says something kind about you, maybe don't argue.
Try saying, 'Thank you.'
And if you're feeling particularly brave...
Maybe believe them."
With love,
Pippa π
