Do you remember when something could be exciting simply because...

it was fun?

Not useful. Not productive. Not good for your résumé.

Growing older gives us responsibilities.

It gives us experience.

But it doesn't require us to surrender our wonder.

So when something makes that younger part of you light up...

maybe don't immediately tell them to settle down.

Let them be excited.

Let them anticipate.

Let them choose the bright colors.

Let them have the gumball.
