💙 A Little From My Heart

"I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out where I belong.

Sometimes I thought I'd found it.

I'd stand near the edge and watch everyone laughing together.

I'd wonder if I should move closer.

But then that little question would appear.

What if they don't want me there?

So I'd wait.

I became very good at waiting.

I'd tell myself I didn't mind being alone.

And sometimes I really didn't.

But there's a difference between choosing to be alone... and being afraid there isn't a place for you.

Then one evening, I found a little light glowing beside a path.

There was a blanket.

There was an empty place.

And hanging beside the light were three little words.

You belong here.

I looked around.

Surely they meant somebody else.

But nobody asked me to prove that I belonged.

Nobody asked me to become funnier, braver, quieter, louder, or easier to understand.

They just made room.

And slowly, I began to understand something.

Maybe belonging isn't about finding a place where you fit perfectly.

Maybe it's finding a place where you don't have to.

So if you've been standing at the edge for a while too...

Come sit beside me.

You don't have to prove anything.

And you don't have to wonder whether this place was meant for you.
