π«Ά I'm Really Good At...
Noticing the little things. Who needs a blanket. Who hasn't spoken in a while. Who always gives away the last cookie. And who might need someone else to save it for them this time.
π· My Biggest Dream
For little acts of kindness to travel so far from one person to another that nobody remembers where they started.
π§οΈ My Biggest Fear
That someone might have a difficult day and believe nobody noticed.
π€ Something You Should Know About Me
You never have to earn a place beside me. You don't need to be cheerful, interesting, helpful, or have anything figured out. If you need somewhere to sit for a while, I'll scoot over.
π A Little From My Heart
"I don't think kindness usually announces itself.
Most of the time, it's very quiet.
It's noticing someone has their hands full and holding the door.
It's remembering how a friend takes their coffee.
It's sending a message that says, 'I was thinking about you.'
It's making a little extra because someone might stop by.
It's moving over.
It's listening.
It's noticing.
None of those things seem very big.
But I've started to wonder if that's exactly why they matter so much.
Because sometimes, on a difficult day, one tiny kindness can become proof that somebody noticed you were there.
And you may never know how much someone needed that.
So I try not to wait until I can do something extraordinary.
I do the little thing.
I save the seat.
I bring the extra strawberry.
I ask one more time if you're really okay.
And if you tell me you're not ready to talk about it, that's okay too.
I'll still be here.
Because kindness isn't always knowing what to say.
Sometimes kindness is simply making sure someone doesn't have to sit alone while they figure it out.
So if you ever find yourself wondering whether some tiny kindness you're thinking about doing could possibly matter...
Do it anyway.
Little things have a funny way of becoming big things inside someone's heart."
With love,
Mabel π
